Shalom House Brings Together Two Special Survivors

June 12th, 2017 – A historical moment took place at the Shalom House event in Caesarea Villa for 15 Holocaust survivors from Netanya and 5 from Or Akiva. Among the group were two survivors who had been together in a ghetto in Ukraine during WWII and who had not seen each other for 73 years.

Tears of expectation and joy were flowing when they met again, and especially after three descendants of the Nazi perpetrators shared their family stories and asked for forgiveness for what happened during and after the World War II. At the end of Shalom House, the two survivors also shared their stories and showed their gratitude to the group for coming from Germany to serve them, and especially to Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל) for doing all the research and ground work for them to meet again!
