Connecting Generations at Sukkot

September 30th, 2018 – This Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) celebration was different for over three hundred of Holocaust survivors. Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל) brought them together with a generation of wonderful young Polish people – from Kalish, Gliwice, Gorzów and other cities. So beautiful to see young and old interact, share and get to know each other.

Sukkot is always a time of very joyful celebration in Israel – symbolizing our people living in the presence of God forever. It was a great opportunity for the Polish visitors to experience the spirit of this celebration and to witness how the survivors can dance, sing and rejoice – and dance, sing and rejoice together with them!

A very special thank you to Jurek Rycharski and the Polish group who sponsored this entire event. Jurek Rycharski has been coming back each year to Israel with new large groups from Poland who desire to spend time with and bless the Holocaust survivors, and to support the State of Israel. Helping Hand Coalition is privileged to be partnered with this incredible community from Poland and is looking forward to future projects and events together.
