December 10th, 2018 – A group of 14 Holocaust survivors from Netanya celebrated the last day of Hanukah in a special Shalom House. We ate, danced and played the traditional Hanukkah dreidel game. This day is called “And this is Hanukkah”, and summarizes the 8-day holiday, causing the people to reflect on and to remember the miracle of a small jar of consecrated oil that lasted 8 days till the new oil could be brought into the Temple.
At the end of the afternoon every survivor received a gift donated by people from Germany.
Before the survivors got on the bus, they were already asking us when we were going to invite them to shalom house again. They enjoyed the time of fellowship so much that they are ready to come every week!
