קבוצת אנשי עסקים וממשל מגואטמלה, נוצרים תומכי ישראל, מתארחת לראשונה ונפגשה בימים אלה עם אנשי עסקים ישראלים במטרה לבחון שיתופי פעולה במספר תחומים בהם רפואה, חקלאות,

תרבות, ממשל ועוד.

המשלחת הכוללת למעלה מ-30 אנשי עסקים ופקידי ממשל בכירים הגיעה כאורחי וידידי ארגון יד לעזרה ישראל (Helping Hand Coalition) ששם לו למטרה לסייע לעשרות אלפי ניצולי שואה ברחבי

הארץ.

המשלחת מקדימה את ביקורו של נשיא גואטמלה החדש, אלחנדרו ג’יאמטאי שכבר עם היבחרו בחודש אוגוסט הצהיר על כוונתו לבקר בישראל. ג’יאמטאי צפוי להגיע לביקור רשמי בישראל ובשגרירות החדשה בירושלים בתחילת חודש דצמבר הקרוב, במטרה לחזק את הקשר עם ישראל ולבחון מספר שיתופי פעולה בתחומי החקלאות, החדשנות והיי-טק.

בין השאר ביקרה המשלחת בבית שלום בקיסריה, שם נפגשה עם ניצולי שואה ומתנדבים המסייעים להם, כמו כן ביקרה המשלחת בשגרירות החדשה של גואטמלה בגן הטכנולוגי בירושלים, שם נפגשה עם שגריר גואטמלה בישראל, מריו בוקרו שסיפר על ההתרגשות וההצלחה הכבירה שבמעבר שגרירות גואטמלה לירושלים, מיד לאחר המעבר של שגרירות ארה”ב מתל אביב לירושלים, וכן ביקרו חברי המשלחת בבניין הכנסת בירושלים.

במסגרת הביקור, שנמשך שבוע ימים, סיירו חברי המשלחת בגליל וברחבי הארץ והתמקדו בניסיונות למצוא שיתופי פעולה כלכליים עם עסקים ומוסדות בישראל בתחום החקלאות וגידולי ירקות ופרות,

יבוא ירקות לישראל שיחל בעוד שנה, תחום הרפואה והדברת מחלות תורשתיות, פיתוח תחום התיירות מגואטמלה לישראל וקשרים כלכליים נוספים כגון יבוא קפה מגואטמלה לחברות ישראליות.

אנדרי גשיורובסקי, איש העסקים והפילנתרופ שהקים את ארגון יד עזרה לישראל, מדגיש כי אירוח המשלחת מגואטמלה בישראל הוא נדבך נוסף בפעילות הארגון שמסייע לאלפי ניצולי שואה באמצעות צוות עובדים מקצועי ומסור הפועל בכל רחבי הארץ במגוון פרויקטים שכל מטרם סיוע לניצולי השואה החיים בארץ. העמותה פועלת בשיתוף פעולה עם משרדי ממשלה וגופי סיוע רבים ומטרתה לעזור, במיוחד במקרים הומניטאריים, לניצולי השואה החיים עימנו ובקרבנו.

בראש המשלחת מגואטמלה עומד ד”ר ג’ורג’ לואיס בוריו ראייס, דיפלומט בכיר ואוהד ישראל ששימש בעבר כנציג גואטמלה באו”ם, בג’נבה, ובשוויץ והינו מומחה לחוק הבינלאומי. ד”ר ראייס ששימש במשך שנים רבות כיועץ לנשיא מוראלס, מגלה כי המליץ ותמך בהעברת שגרירות גאוטמאלה מתל אביב לירושלים. לצידו במשלחת גם עורך הדין לואיס פרננדו ח’ררה טולידו ואשת התקשורת סילביה גאוורו סנפוד.

דניאל רוזן, חבר הנהלה בכיר ביד לעזרה ישראל, המלווה את המשלחת, מדגיש כי חברי המשלחת שהגיעו להכיר את ישראל, תרבותה וכלכלתה, מתחברים בעיקר למסר ולחזון של סיוע לניצולי השואה החיים בינינו.

לוק גשיורובסקי, מנהל עמותת יד עזרה לישראל מסר כי העמותה פועלת לסייע לניצולי שואה ברחבי הארץ במגוון פעולות ואמצעים ובהם פרויקט בתים חמים המופעל בכ- 25 רשויות מקומיות ומאפשר לניצולי שואה ליהנות מארוחה חמה ומפגש חברתי, יבוא מכולות עם פרטי לבוש המחולקים חינם לניצולי השואה, חלוקת תלושי מזון לשימושם של ניצולי השואה, תיעוד זיכרונותיהם של ניצולי השואה, מוקד עזרה רפואית, ייזום חגיגות בר מצווה לניצולי שואה שלא זכו לחגוג זאת בילדותם, סיוע והשתתפות במצעד החיים ועוד עשרות פרויקטים נוספים ובהם בית שלום בקיסריה – בית המשמש כמקום מפגש לעשרות חוגים, הרצאות, סדנאות, שיעורים ומפגשי לימוד, מופעי אומנות, מוסיקה ותרבות במהלך כל השנה לעשרות אלפי ניצולי השואה החיים ברחבי ישראל.

העמותה החליטה לאחרונה לחשוף את פעילותה במטרה לאפשר לניצולי שואה נוספים החיים ברחבי הארץ ליהנות משרותיה המגוונים ובמטרה לשפר את איכות החיים של ניצולי השואה בגילם המבוגר באזור מגוריהם ברחבי הארץ.

A group of businessmen and government from Guatemala, Christian supporters of Israel, are hosting for the first time and are currently meeting with Israeli businessmen to examine collaborations in a number of areas including medicine, agriculture, culture, government, and more. The delegation, which includes more than 30 businessmen and senior government officials, came as guests and friends of Helping Hand Coalition, which aims to help tens of thousands of survivors of the Holocaust across the country.

The delegation is anticipating the visit of new Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei, who was already elected in August with his intention to visit Israel. Giammattei is expected to make an official visit to Israel and the new embassy in Jerusalem early this December, with the aim of strengthening ties with Israel and exploring several collaborations in agriculture, innovation, and high-tech.

Among other things, the delegation visited the Shalom House in Caesarea, where they met with survivors of the Holocaust and volunteers assisting them, as well as the delegation to the new Guatemalan embassy in Jerusalem, where they met with the Guatemalan Ambassador in Israel, Mario Bucaro, who told of the excitement and success of the Guatemalan embassy, the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and members of the delegation visited the Knesset building in Jerusalem.

During the week-long visit, the delegation toured the Galilee and throughout the country, focusing on attempts to find economic collaborations with businesses and institutions in Israel in the field of agriculture and crops and vegetables, importing vegetables into Israel which will begin in a year, the field of medicine and hereditary diseases, the development of tourism from all other countries and Israel. Andre Gasiorowski, chairman of Helping Hand Coalition Israel organization, emphasized that hosting the Guatemalan delegation in Israel is another pillar of the organization’s work to assist thousands of survivors of the Holocaust through a professional and dedicated staff working across the country in a variety of projects to assist Holocaust survivors in Israel.
