לרגל חג החנוכה חלקו עשרות מתנדבי ארגון “יד לעזרה ישראל” ברחבי הארץ אלפי סלי מזון, תלושי קניה, מוצרי ספורט למיניהם, חיתולים ומוצרי הגיינה ואפילו כסאות נכים לאלפי ניצולי שואה ובני משפחותיהם.

בסיוע חברת GAIN שהביאה לישראל מספר קונטיינרים חולקו המוצרים וגרמו לאושר רב לניצולי השואה ובני משפחותיהם. כך למשל חולקו כסאות לנכים, חיתולים ומוצרי הגיינה, מותגי ספורט כגון נעלי ספורט של אדידס, ריבוק ועוד, חולצות וטרניגים וכמובן סלי מזון ותלושי קניה. החלוקה התבצעה במספר ערים ובהשתתפות ארגונים, קרנות, יחידים בערים ירושלים, בית שמש בן שמן וגם פתח תקווה, חיפה, נצרת, כרמיאל, אשדוד, יבנה ועוד.

לוק גשיורובסקי, מנהל עמותת יד עזרה לישראל שארגן את החלוקה מסר כי ארגון יד עזרה לישראל שמח על הזכות לסייע לאלפי ניצולי שואה עם בוא החורף ולקראת חג החנוכה סמתן מצרכים, ארוחות חמות, סלי מזון וכל מה שנחוץ לניצולי השואה. לדבריו ארגון יד לעזרה ישראל סייע השנה גם לנערים ולילדים נזקקים בכפר דליית אל כרמל וחילק להם חולצות ונעלי ספורט ממותגים.

במקביל קבוצה של 150 תיירים אוהדי ישראל מסינגפור מצאה דרך מקורית לציין את שהותם בירושלים. ביום ב’ האחרון הם ארגנו וממנו אירוע מחווה מרשים לעשרות ניצולי שואה ברחבי ירושלים והסביבה והזמינו אותם לארוחת צהריים, שירה וריקוד במלון עץ הזית בירושלים. זהו אירוע שני בירושלים בחודש זה.

ראש הקבוצה, מלווין מארק, מסר כי מפגש זה ומפגשים נוספים ברחבי הארץ מטרתם להכיר לתיירים, כולם נוצרים אוהבי ישראל, את ניצולי השואה באופן אישי ולאפשר להם לתרום ולשפר את איכות חייהם של ניצולי השואה החיים עימנו.

באירועים משתתפים עשרות ניצולי שואה שחלקם מספר בהתרגשות את סיפור הישרדותם כילדים בשואה. כך לדוגמא באירוע האחרון רגשו יעקב ליברמן ואברהם ליטובסקי – ניצולי שואה מירושלים בסיפורם כיצד ברחו, התחבאו, סבלו ברעב ובקור, כל איש וסיפורו המזעזע.

למעלה מאלף ניצולי שואה רשומים חיים כיום בירושלים מתוך כ-150 אלף ניצולי שואה החיים כיום בישראל ורבע מהם חיים מתחת לקו העוני. עמותת יד עזרה לישראל מסייעת במיוחד לאוכלוסיה זו שמרביתה, יוצאת מדינות מזרח אירופה במטרה לשפר את איכות חייהם ורווחתם ככל שניתן ולסייע להם בצרכיהם הבסיסיים כמו גם בקבלת מלוא זכויותיהם – מדגיש גשיורובסקי שמגלה כי היום, 74 שנים לסיום המלחמה, ממוצע גילם של ניצולי השואה הוא 83 שנים.

נשיא ומייסד שותף של עמותת יד עזרה לישראל, אנדרי גשיורובסקי, מסר כי לקראת החורף נמשכת חלוקת אלפי סלי מזון הכוללים מצרכים מגוונים ומוצרי יסוד בסיסיים לאלפי ניצולי שואה ברחבי הארץ. מאות פעילי ומתנדבי עמותת יד עזרה לישראל מסייעים בחלוקה בלמעלה מ- 25 ערים וישובים כולל ירושלים.

קואליציית יד לעזרה ישראל (Helping Hand Coalition ) הינו ארגון הפועל לסייע לניצולי שואה ברחבי הארץ במגוון פעולות ואמצעים ובהם פרויקט בית שלום, הפועל בוילה בקיסריה ומוקדש למפגשים של ניצולי שואה ותיירים מרחבי העולם לארוחות, אירועי תרבות מוסיקה וקירוב לבבות. הארגון פועל בכ- 25 רשויות מקומיות ומאפשר לניצולי שואה ליהנות מארוחות חמות, מפגשים חברתיים, חלוקת מזון ותלושי מזון, תיעוד זיכרונותיהם של ניצולי השואה, מוקד עזרה רפואית, ייזום חגיגות בר מצווה לניצולי שואה שלא זכו לחגוג זאת בילדותם, סיוע והשתתפות במצעד החיים, פרויקט סיוע לחיילים בודדים בצה”ל באזור הצפון ועוד עשרות פרויקטים נוספים.

לאחרונה החליטה העמותה לחשוף את פעילותה במטרה לאפשר לניצולי שואה נוספים החיים ברחבי הארץ ליהנות משרותיה המגוונים ובמטרה לשפר את איכות החיים של ניצולי השואה בגילם המבוגר באזור מגוריהם ברחבי הארץ.

With Hanukkah approaching, thousands of survivors of the Holocaust and their families were given a variety of products, sneakers, slips, food baskets, handicapped chairs, diapers and more, on the initiative of the Israeli organization, Helping Hand Coalition. At the same time, Singaporean visitors hosted survivors in Jerusalem this week, donating and celebrating life with them.

With Hanukkah approaching, dozens of Helping Hand Coalition volunteers shared thousands of food baskets, shopping bags, various sports goods, diapers, hygiene products, and even handicapped chairs for thousands of survivors and their families.

With the help of GAiN Germany, Global Aid Network Germany, who brought several containers to Israel, the products were distributed and caused great happiness to the survivors and their families. For example, handicapped chairs, diapers, hygiene products, food baskets, and shopping coupons were distributed. Sports brands such as Adidas sneakers and Reebok t-shirts were also given. The distribution, with the participation of other organizations and foundations, took place in a number of cities around Israel; including, Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Ben Shemen, Petah Tikva, Haifa, Nazareth, Carmiel, Ashdod, Yavne, and more.

Luke Gasiorowksi, director of Helping Hand Coalition Israel, who organized the division, said that HHC is happy to help thousands of survivors of the Holocaust as the winter comes, and Hanukkah begins. Supplies of groceries, hot meals, food baskets, and everything needed for survivors are being distributed at this time. According to Luke, a partnered organization also helped the needy boys and children in the village of Daliat El Carmel and gave them branded shirts and sneakers.

At the same time, a group of 150 Israel supporters from Singapore found an original way to mark their stay in Jerusalem. Last Monday, they organized a memorable tribute event for dozens of survivors of the Holocaust throughout Jerusalem and the surrounding area. They invited the survivors to eat, sing, and dance at the Olive Tree Hotel in Jerusalem. This was the second event in Jerusalem this month.

The group’s leader, Melvin Mark, said that this gathering and other gatherings around the country are aimed at introducing tourists to survivors of the Holocaust, allowing them to contribute and improve the quality of life of the survivors living in Israel.

Dozens of survivors of the Holocaust participated, some of whom told their story of survival as children during the Holocaust. For example, at the recent event, Jacob Lieberman and Avraham Litovsky, survivors from Jerusalem, told their story of how they fled, hid, and suffered the hunger and the cold, during the war.

More than 1,000 survivors are currently living in Jerusalem out of the 150,000 survivors of the Holocaust presently residing in Israel, a quarter of them live below the poverty line. Helping Hand Coalition especially helps this large population, who left Eastern European countries, with the aim of improving their quality of life and well-being as much as possible. HHC also aids the survivors with their basic needs as well as their full rights – emphasizes Gasiorowski, who stated that 74 years after the end of the war, the average age of the survivors is 80 years old.

Chairman of Helping Hand Coalition, Andre Gasiorowski, said that during the winter, the distribution of thousands of food baskets, including various groceries and essential products to thousands of survivors across the country, continues. Hundreds of Helping Hand Coalition activists and volunteers assisted in dividing over 25 cities and communities, including Jerusalem.

Helping Hand Coalition is an organization that works to assist survivors of the Holocaust across the country through a variety of actions and measures. This includes the Shalom House Project, which operates in HHC’s Caesarea Villa and is dedicated to hosting events for survivors and visitors from around the world to get to know one another through meals, cultural events, and fellowship. The organization also operates in about 25 local authorities, allowing survivors of the Holocaust across Israel to participate in the multiple active projects. These include hot meals, social gatherings, food distribution, food coupons, documenting survivors’ memoirs, initiating a bar mitzvah celebrations for survivors of the Holocaust who did not celebrate it as a child, assisting and participating in the parade of life, along with helping individual IDF soldiers in the northern region and dozens more.

Recently, the association decided to unveil its activities to enable more survivors of the Holocaust living across the country to enjoy its various services and to improve the quality of life of the survivors in their older age and their area of residence throughout the country.
