October 6th, 2025 – Svetlana made aliyah from Russia 10 years ago. She has been living in Bat Yam, renting the same apartment all this time. Svetlana is a single mom of two children, 18 and 21.
When the sirens sounded before the Iranian missile hit, her son was off from the army and deep asleep; she managed to get him out of bed by force and to the public shelter. She pretty much saved him, because he didn’t want to go down, he was too exhausted. She is so grateful for this.
Yet, she is still traumatized from the event, all windows and parts of the wall exploded and crashed on her son’s bed. She recently returned to her work at Superpharm (local drugstore).
