February 24th, 2026 – The city of Lod has 90,000 residents, with one of the largest percentage of elderly in its population (60%).
There are 7 elderly hostels in that small city. Rent is one of the cheapest in Lod, therefore many financially struggling populations move there. It is also a mixed city, with 30 % of Israeli Arabs.
Rachel Shapiro, new immigrant center coordinator in Lod, also Head of WWII veterans organization, was so appreciative for all the help that the Global Forum (of Helping Hand Coalition) has been providing the city and especially to Victims of the Holocaust.
This time, right In the heart of the winter, Lod Association of Victims of the Holocaust, part of Helping Hand Coalition Global Forum, have received top-quality mattresses, for the elderly and those in need in Israel.
