Pessach in Caesarea for Survivors from Holon

April 16th, 2017 – 19 Holocaust survivors from Holon were invited to a Shalom House gathering  in the Caesarea Villa. A group of 21 young people from “Yad be’Yad”, volunteers from Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל) and volunteers from March of Life prepared this special Pessach event. The survivors were touched because of the warm welcome.

Before they arrived to the Villa for the celebration, they had a tour through the old city of Caesarea, which was organized by two Helping Hand Coalition volunteers, Don and Martha, who travelled with them and told them about history and significance of  many famous landmarks in the city, while other volunteers were busy in the kitchen and outside, preparing the meal and putting finishing touches to the tables. The weather was perfect, and the survivors were delighted to spend time in the fresh air.

Everyone enjoyed traditional Pessach meal, the story and singing, more so because of the opportunity of the old and the young sitting together and recounting the ancient account of deliverance from slavery.
