March 9th, 2022 – Varvara is a new immigrant from Ukraine who arrived in Israel a few months ago with her husband. They are currently living in Beersheva in a one-bedroom social apartment granted by the ministry of Aliyah.
Recently, after trying to reach her close friend for a week, Varvara found out that her friend had died in the war happening in Ukraine. Still having family members living in Ukraine, she is significantly affected by the current conflict.
Varvara (top left and center) was present at the local distribution at the Aliyah department and was deeply touched by the attention and love she received through the donation and the time spent with her listening to her story. She could not believe how nice the sportswear clothing she received was.
Other new immigrants ladies were blessed with the beautiful donations right before International Women’s Day and sent many blessings to those behind the precious gifts.
Rehovot department of Aliyah and integration of new immigrants received excellent sportswear clothing, shoes, elegant dress shoes for new immigrant families and even Ukrainian refugees who have just arrived in Israel.
Pictured (second row of pictures) is a family who recently escaped Zaparojie, Ukraine. The father had to walk 15km carrying his son in his arms. The child had just had a heart surgery. The father was refused to get on the bus for refugees several times because officials were not allowing men to leave the country. However, he finally convinced local authorities of his son’s serious health issues and is now in Israel with his wife and son.
A few Russian refugees were present after escaping Russia due to the lack of safety for anybody who doesn’t support the war and lives on the borders of Ukraine.
A huge thanks to GAiN Germany for shipping such high-quality goods and to our local partners Joseph Project for handling all the logistics of bringing the precious donation into Israel. Amazing teamwork!
