Petakh Tikva | Grocery Shopping Gift Cards for the Disabled and Underprivileged

September 18th, 2024 – Thanks to the generosity of British guests, another lady in need received significant financial help for her and her family in the form of grocery cards.

Sarah is 41 years old single mother. She has 3 children, (17, 15 and a 14 year old autistic son with lots of issues).

She made aliyah in 2011 from Ukraine. She was separated with her husband since 2012, because he had been violent with her, and was widowed in the last year.

She currently lives in Petach Tikva. She was in Ashkelon last year with her children when their building was hit by a rocket on the first day of the war. They were left without home (everything she had in her rental apartment was destroyed or damaged).

She was then given a small room in Petach Tikva for few days. After that she had to rent another apartment for a large sum for a short period. Finally the ministry of absorption gave her a government apartment where they can stay at the moment for a minimal sum.

They lost everything when the rocket hit their home. So they had to start life from scratch, buy everything from underwear to clothing, home supplies, appliances and more.

She is currently unable to work, she has to take care of her autistic son.
