May 27th, 2026 – Galina Geller, 90 years old
Galina was very grateful to receive a brand new stove oven. Her previous stove had two burners that were no longer working properly. She had received that stove second hand about five years ago, so this new appliance will greatly help her in her daily life.
Galina lives alone with her cat, Koscka. She has high blood pressure and takes many medications each day.
During the recent war, Galina faced additional challenges because there is no bomb shelter in her apartment building. Whenever the sirens sounded, her neighbors would quickly knock on her door so she could safely make her way downstairs to the communal bomb shelter.
Like many of the Holocaust survivors visited today, Galina wears an emergency medical wristband in case she needs immediate medical assistance.
Despite the many hardships she has faced, Galina remains in very good spirits and is a truly lovely lady.
