May 28th, 2026 – David & Nelly Spector, ages 85 and 84:
A greeting & blessing to Roger: “Shalom dear good hearted person (Roger). I am very grateful for the kind gift we received from you. It truly brings us great joy. We wish you that you would be healthy and continue being the way that you are.””
David and Nelly are originally from Ukraine. They have two sons, one who lives in Israel and another who lives in North Carolina with his family. In the past, they were able to travel and visit family, but due to their age and health challenges, traveling is no longer possible for them.
Nelly is thankfully still in relatively good health, but David is not well, and she lovingly takes care of him every day. His condition also prevents them from joining activities and trips for Holocaust survivors, even shorter trips such as visits to the Dead Sea.
During the recent war, they faced additional difficulties because there is no bomb shelter on their floor. The only shelter is located on floor -1, while they live on the 5th floor. Each time a siren sounded, they had to make their way downstairs and later slowly return upstairs using a very small elevator shared by the entire building.
David and Nelly were very grateful to receive a new stove oven, as their previous one was no longer suitable for their needs, but it was all they had.
