On March 13th, a remarkable event occurred at Helping Hand Coalition’s Caesarea headquarters. Fifty survivors of the Holocaust from Akko, led by a woman named Claudia, attended an art exhibit organized by Artists for Holocaust Survivors and Alexander Dietze. As they arrived, the survivors were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the artists and Helping Hand Coalition’s team. Throughout the afternoon, the survivors connected with one another, shared their stories, and celebrated their hope for the present and the future!
This week consisted of two Shalom House events! With more artwork to gift to the survivors, Jörn Lange and his group, Artists for Holocaust Survivors, returned for one more event. Opening Helping Hand Coalition’s headquarters to thirty-five survivors from the Foundation of Holocaust Victims based in Haifa and led by Margarita, July 12th was an afternoon of reuniting with friends and drawing closer through the reconciliation of art!
Art has the power to transfer meaning from the hands of the painter into the heart of the beholder. On July 11th, Helping Hand Coalition opened its headquarters to an exhibition of artwork from all over the world. Welcoming back the Artists for Holocaust Survivors, led by Jörn Lange, and twenty-six survivors from Rishon LeZion, led by Evgenia Tzofim, it was an afternoon of impacting moments and heartfelt connection.
