Tel-Aviv | Nationwide Distribution of Brand New Mattresses

July 21st, 2025 – What a blessed week! Many more African refugees living in the South Tel-Aviv’s poorest neighborhoods received brand new high quality mattresses.

Helping Hand Coalition has been delivering in the past few months hundreds of brand new mattresses for survivors of the Holocaust – members of our Global Forum – thus creating an amazing buzz and rush of excitement within our network of local associations, among both members and their families, but also organization leaders who were so excited to take part in the operation.

Helping Hand Coalition & Global Forum for Israel recently received from GAiN (Global Aid Network) a shipment of several hundreds of brand-new German best-selling mattresses directly from the European factory.

These mattresses, still wrapped and in perfect brand-new condition, are an exclusive offer for our Global Forum members.

A huge thanks to GAiN Germany for their tremendous support to the people of Israel in these challenging times.

Tel-Aviv | Humanitarian Aid for New Immigrants and Families in Need

October 10th, 2024 – Thanks to GAiN Germany, and together with the Generous Basket Organization, hundreds of families and individuals from central Israel will be blessed with brand new sportswear clothing & shoes, as well as brand new regular clothing.

Generous Basket is a humanitarian aid NGO located right in the heart of Tel Aviv, opened since 2022, just at the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Their aim is to assist refugees, displaced people from conflict areas, and those in need.

Words from the team:

“Since October 7, 2023, the demand for assistance through Generous Basket has tripled, with an increasing number of Israelis displaced from military zones seeking help. Previously, our aid primarily reached new immigrants, refugees, and single mothers with children. In the first three months of the war alone, we distributed 758 food boxes, delivered 12,000 kg of humanitarian aid, and reached 3,348 individuals with the help of our dedicated volunteers.

In the first half of 2024, an average of 400 families per month have sought help from Generous Basket. Whether they are picking a warm coat for winter, a comforting home good, or a food basket, every visit is accompanied by friendly conversations, free coffee, sweet treats, and a community that cares.”

The whole team expressed so much excitement about the donation and how it is going to bless so many families and individuals in need, and thanks Helping Hand Coalition and GAiN Germany for their support.

Or Akiva, Netanya and Ashdod | Huge Distribution of Gift Grocery Cards

July 30th, 2024 – During these challenging war times, many more victims of the Holocaust who are part of GAiN Sponsorship Program received a huge donation of grocery cards. WWII Refugees from Or Akiva got this financial support from their German sponsor for purchasing groceries.

Ashdod Association of Victims of the Holocaust, led by Vladimir Linstengarten, received financial support right in the midst of the war in southern Israel, thanks to GAiN Germany.

Close to two hundred WWII refugees living in Netanya received gift of grocery cards as well.

The elderly were so joyful for the love and attention they received, especially during these difficult times.

A huge thanks to GAiN Germany, who continue to support these precious elderly in Israel.

Huge Donation of Grocery Gift Cards for Victims of the Holocaust in the GAIN Sponsorship Program

April 4th, 2024 – “…WE ARE BARELY BACK IN OUR HOME AND ALREADY HHC/GAIN IS HERE, VISITING US AND BRINGING US FINANCIAL SUPPORT, WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR LOVE AND CONSISTENT SUPPORT,” – these are the words of survivors of the Holocaust from Sderot who just recently returned home after being away for almost half a year. The elderly were so happy to be receiving financial support, just few weeks away from the upcoming Passover Jewish Holiday, which hopefully they will celebrate in their hometown.

Many other evacuees from Sderot, who are still staying in hotels in Eilat, Dead Sea, Tel Aviv, or temporarily living at family members’ homes till the war is over, also received the donation of the grocery cards for shopping.

As we are approaching the Passover Holiday season, many more WWII Refugees from Netanya and Ofakim are receiving financial support from their German sponsors for purchasing groceries this week. All these donations and blessed distribution of financial aid are made possible thanks to the generosity of hundreds of German families donating through the GAiN Sponsorship Program and through the Helping Hand Coalition who deliver the support to the elderly nationwide.

Gift Grocery Cards for Holocaust Survivors Nationwide

January 19th, 2024 – Close to 50 WWII refugees from Beersheva received financial support from their German sponsors in the form of grocery cards for purchasing groceries, in the middle of a war and constant threat of rocket fire!!!

Many WWII refugees and other victims of the Holocaust in Hadera, Holon, Jerusalem, Petach Tikva, Rehovot, Rishon leZion and more locations nationwide also received gift grocery cards to support them through this time.

Gift Grocery Cards for Survivors in Ashdod and Ofakim

December 26th, 2023 – Survivors-members of Ashdod Association of Victims of the Holocaust, led by Vladimir Linstengarten, received gift grocery cards, thanks to GAiN Germany. Ghetto survivors and WWII refugees in Ashdod and Ofakim, who are part of GAiN Sponsorship Program, received the grocery cards donation as well right in the middle of the war.

Both cities had been under incessant rocket fire for the first two months of the war, and even now sirens are a common sound to the survivors. So much joy and appreciation from everyone of them for receiving help in such troublesome times.

Sderot | War Refugees – for the Second Time in Life

October 18th, 2023 – Powerful time with Ilyas Mordochovitch, his wife Neliah and Svetlana Kamilkov, who are part of the GAiN Sponsorship Program. They are WWII refugees and now, for the second time in their lives, also refugees of the current war in Israel. Ilyas and Neliah’s tiny apartment is located 150 meters away from the police station that was assaulted and destroyed by Hamas forces at the beginning of the ongoing war. They had to hide for 8 hours inside of their bomb shelters.

Last Friday, October 13th, for security reasons, they were evacuated by Israeli forces and army, although they did not want to leave their home. Thankfully, they are very well taken care of and have been placed together with many more residents of Sderot in the Setai Tel Aviv Yafo hotel, where they are provided a free stay along with 3 meals a day.

In a similar fashion, 28,000 residents have been evacuated from Sderot, with only around 6,000-7,000 residents that have chosen to not leave their city.

Ilya, Neliah and Svetlana are once again war refugees after evacuation years ago from their cities in their childhood to survive and run away from Nazism.

They are so grateful for the love and care they have been manifested from the members of Helping Hand Coalition for Israel and from all their international friends.

Netanya | Brand-New Walkers Donated to WWII Refugees

September 21st, 2023 – Thanks to Christians for Israel (Germany), brand new walkers were purchased locally and delivered to Netanya WWII refugees, in the heart of the Jewish holidays.

The elderly were very happy about the donation and significantly insisted on sending their warmest thanks and love to their German friends.

September 20th, 2023 – More precious Victims of the Holocaust from Beersheva and Netanya, who were refugees during WWII, were added to the GAiN Sponsorship Program, thanks to GAiN Germany.

The individuals have heart gripping stories, sharing their struggle of survival as young children during the wartime, running away from the Nazis, dealing with extreme living conditions, having to eat grass and/or potato skin not to die of starvation, and much more.

So privileged to be working with such special individuals.
