Helping Children of Holocaust in Dimona

June 30th, 2017 – we received a request for walkers and canes from the Children of Holocaust in Dimona and partnered with Joseph Project to deliver 27 walkers to them. We also purchased and delivered 17 canes with money donated by some believing friends.

The group that received the donation in Dimona told us that it was the first time they had such help and that most people considered them to be in too remote a place in the south of Israel to help them. Walkers and canes are indispensable for most survivors because it’s hard for them to walk and sometimes to keep their balance unassisted. The walkers and canes they received are sturdy, light and easy to manage. They provide much-needed and sufficient support in walking and something to lean on while standing/sitting down/getting up.

It was a five-hour round trip for the volunteers of Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל), but it was well worth it. The survivors were grateful and happy to receive the donation and attention, and the volunteers felt encouraged because they were able to assist.
