Much to Learn

August 18th, 2017 – An enjoyable Shalom House took place for 12 Holocaust survivors from Natanya in the Caesarea Villa. The survivors were pleasantly surprised to see the Vice-President of Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל), Luke Gasiorowski, and leader of one of Shalom House clubs, Yehuda Davidov, came in to spend time with them. They were welcomes with expression of much appreciation and love. Some survivors even stood up and thanked them for doing so much on their behalf.

After a tasty lunch and time of interaction we showed the group the video “What is March of Life”. There were tears in their eyes as they watched the video. At the end of it, one of the survivors got out an old photo album and showed us photos from WWII. Another survivor told us that she was born soon after the war and that this survivor fought to fee her town from the fascists.

These stories of survival and victory through indescribable suffering are a miracle, and they will go on as a remembrance forever. We have so much to learn!
