Like They Say It in Hawaii

October 30th, 2017 – the volunteers of Helping Hand Coalition for Israel (עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל) and March of Life set the tune and the tables for Hawaiian-themed Shalom House meeting at the Caesarea Villa for 20 Holocaust survivors who came from Netanya.

Volunteers from Hawaii taught the survivors the famous Aloha salute, did a short presentation about the islands and gave each survivor a lei (flower garland). At the end of the day was a contest:  a person who was able to say the name of the official Hawaiian fish “Humuhumunukunukuapua’a” correctly got a special price. Believe it or not, one of them won a beautiful Haku Lei (crown of flowers lei).

At the end of the Shalom House, even the bus driver was asking for his Lei.

That was fun! Aloha!
