April 13th, 2024 – Sophia is a 37 year old lady who came to Israel from Saint Petersburg, Russia, with her mother Emma a little under 2 years ago.

In May 2022, she started getting sick. Very quickly she found out she had leukemia and came to Israel almost right away since she had barely any chance to survive had she stayed in Russia. She has a brother and 3 sisters, all of them in Russia.

The first round of treatment seemed successful initially, but unfortunately the sickness returned, and she was recently sent home with very little hope. Doctors are currently researching a better treatment for her. Please pray for Sophia and for the doctors to find a fitting treatment.

Like Sophia, many disabled individuals are «invisible» (individuals who struggle with serious sicknesses and health issues which are not always visible to the eye) nationwide, and have been receiving financial aid from the sponsors of Helping Hand Coalition for Israel – in this case in form of gift grocery cards to enable them buy groceries.
