March 9th, 2025 – Our dear Sofia has been in the GAiN Sponsorship Program since the beginning, almost 20 years ago.

Two years into the program, she replaced her husband Yosef, who had passed away, and the sponsorship was moved to her name. She herself is a WWII Refugee, and had to escape from the Nazis to survive in her young age.

Recently the GAiN office notified us that her sponsor could not continue the support, but thankfully they are already working on finding her a new sponsor family. Such an amazing team who cares, loves Israel and the survivors of the Holocaust.

Sofia was so relieved when we came to her tiny apartment and collected all of her updated information and story for the new supporters. She said that she deeply appreciates the help and love that she has been receiving all these years, through the GAiN sponsorship program. And that the support means so much to her.

When her husband Yosef had passed away, she also thought that maybe GAiN / HHC would stop helping her, and was anxious till she understood that her friends are staying right by her side, and that no one is leaving her anytime soon.
