On April 24th, Ballet Magnificat! concluded their twelve-day tour across Israel with a grand finale at Helping Hand Coalition’s Caesarea headquarters. The event was attended by international guests and twenty survivors of the Holocaust from Beit Ham in Or Akiva, led by Sofia. It was a truly remarkable Shalom House that touched the hearts of all attendees and paid tribute to those no longer with us ahead of Israel’s Remembrance Day (Yom HaZikaron).
During the week of memorial and preparation leading up to Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day (April 18th) and Independence Day (April 26th), an American ballet company called Ballet Magnificat! arrived in Israel with fourteen professional dancers to perform “The Hiding Place,” a story of “hope in the midst of suffering.”
On April 11th, UPC (Universal Peace Council) organized an entertainment event for children with cancer at Helping Hand Global Forum headquarters. The afternoon included various activities of music, dance, and sports. A delicious lunch was also served to the participants.
On March 13th, a remarkable event occurred at Helping Hand Coalition’s Caesarea headquarters. Fifty survivors of the Holocaust from Akko, led by a woman named Claudia, attended an art exhibit organized by Artists for Holocaust Survivors and Alexander Dietze. As they arrived, the survivors were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the artists and Helping Hand Coalition’s team. Throughout the afternoon, the survivors connected with one another, shared their stories, and celebrated their hope for the present and the future!
s a soft breeze cooled the spring day on March 6th, Helping Hand Coalition opened the doors of its Caesarea Headquarters to welcome twenty survivors of the Holocaust from Netanya, led by Galena, and American pianist, Alex Zsolt, for a Purim Shalom House event that showcased the love of God, the gift of music, the restoration of sight, and the joy of friendship!
On January 30th, twenty survivors of the Holocaust from the Club of Kiryat Nordau in Netanya, led by Rita Liberman, arrived at Helping Hand Coalition’s Caesarea headquarters for the first Shalom House event of 2023. Hosted by Andre and Bozena Gasiorowski, Co-founders of Helping Hand Coalition, the afternoon consisted of a memorial to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day and a performance by Alyosha and Jody Ryabinov and their friend Chanina.
On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a special event was held in Jerusalem at the Candle of Remembrance Monument to commemorate the countless victims of the Holocaust.
Today, we begin with prayer to honor the memory of those victims of the Nazi regime.
Over two thousand years ago, a small Jewish army led by the Maccabees defeated the Greeks, regaining control of Jerusalem and the Temple. Each year, we light our menorahs for eight days to remember their victory, the rededication of the Temple, and God’s deliverance and miracles. On December 22nd, the fourth day of Hanukkah, sixteen survivors of the Holocaust from Beit Ham in Or Akiva, led by Sofia, arrived at Helping Hand Coalition’s headquarters for a special Hanukkah Shalom House lunch!
Every year, thousands of tour groups visit the Holy Land to watch the Bible come to life; however, in a rush to see all of the historical sites, many miss the opportunity to meet the people whose survival made the State of Israel’s existence possible! On November 30th, Silvia Sanford and her tour group came to Helping Hand Coalition’s Caesarea headquarters to host twenty survivors of the Holocaust from Children of the War in Netanya, led by Mila Fleitman and Eda, for a special Shalom House event!
For the first time in history, German licensed trucks, sponsored and organized by GAiN Germany, carrying containers of humanitarian aid, were driven into Israel to bless the people and celebrate fifteen years of partnership with Helping Hand Coalition.
Helping Hand Global Forum hosts a Farewell Gala Dinner sponsored and organized by the 90-person “History Makers” group.
On September 14th, in the Jonah Convention Center at the Vert Lagoon Hotel in Netanya, over three hundred participants celebrated the work and history of the organization along with the 15th anniversary of Helping Hand Coalition and 10th anniversary of Helping Hand Global Forum!
