Bat Yam | Financial Aid for Residents who were Evacuated During the Iran War

January 10th, 2026 – In the heart of the 2026 winter and thanks to Helping Hand Coalition sponsors from England, another Bat Yam single parent family, whose rental apartment and belongings were destroyed last June by Iranian missiles, received financial help in the form of grocery cards for shopping.

Many of them were already struggling to have the ends met before the war, now their current situation is even harder, with more uncertainty.

There were around 1,000 war evacuees that were displaced by the Iran war, some of them have returned to their home, while others are renting another home. Most of them are still very emotionally and psychologically affected by what they went through in last year war.

Single mother of two teenage daughters, and disabled, was so blessed for the financial support she received.

Tel-Aviv | Financial Aid for Bat Yam Iran War Evacuees Whose Homes Were Destroyed or Damaged – Personal Story

September 4th, 2025 – Mazal is a single mother of two (5 and 28 year old). Her older son is in army reserves. They didn’t not have access to the public shelter. They stood on the stairs by the door, and the shock waves destroyed the windows, shutters, the floor and much more. She was renting, 25 years in the apartment. They live few meters from the building that was hit directly.

She is still waiting for insurance to get the apartment fixed. Mazal does not earn enough money to rent another apartment. She is worried about the situation and the uncertainty. She feels that no one knows when and what’s next. She still hasn’t received direct financial aid from the government, of course, besides the free hotel room for the time being.

Ruchama | Financial Aid for Kfar Aza October 7th Survivor

August 13th, 2025 – Thanks to the generosity of German sponsors who found out about Helping Hand Coalition‘s mercy projects through GAiN Germany, more financial support for grocery cards for shopping was brought to Jessica, who became a widow after the October 7th events.

Jessica is a resident of Kfar Aza who was until last year evacuated at the Shfayim hotel in central Israel.

This past winter, she moved back to Southern Israel after a year of being evacuated. She is currently living in a small mobile home/ tiny house at the Ruchama kibbutz, near Sderot.

This past year has not been easy and she more than appreciates the support and care that she has been receiving.

Jessica is 36 years old and has 2 young children.

Like her, there were 120 families from the Kfar Aza kibbutz staying at the Shfayim hotel.

Jessica’s husband Nadav fought and died fighting Hamas. He was defending the kibbutz. Luckily she was out of town at her parents with her children when her house was raided by Hamas terrorists and destroyed.

She was very happy to receive the financial support.

Greetings and blessings,

Subject: Letter of thanks and appreciation*

I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude for the help and assistance you have provided to me and my family over the years.

Your generous support – whether in food, equipment, financial assistance or any other help – is a source of light, warmth and hope for me. In a world of difficulty and daily struggle, your giving constitutes a true anchor of kindness.

Your many years of help are not taken for granted, and I cherish and appreciate the dedication, sensitivity and love evident in your every action.

May you be blessed for every good deed, and may you always be on the giving side, from a place of abundance, joy and health.

With deep appreciation,

Rachel

My name is Rachel, 52, a single mother of five children, three of whom are dealing with medical disabilities and complex mental conditions and a difficult financial situation.

I am also raising my granddaughter, a sweet and special girl, who is on the autistic spectrum.

I take care of her with full dedication, without any assistance from her biological mother who is dealing with personal issues.

My son Barak, 29, was abused at the age of 17 and since then has been repeatedly hospitalized in a suicidal state with hanging attempts, underwent surgeries due to the abuse, turned to drugs to forget his pain, is currently in a ward at the Psychiatric Hospital, undergoing rehabilitation due to double morbidity.

My son Daniel, 28, was previously an athlete and stronger than average, suffers from schizophrenia and severe and complex neurological problems, is confined to a wheelchair and bed, in a nursing home and underweight, his condition is defined as terminal.

My son Maor, 23, suffers from severe epilepsy, depression, underwent CPR, was sedated and ventilated, and was required to undergo surgery that is not included in the list of subsidized treatments.

My daughter Maayan, 17 years old, studying at a boarding school for gardening and landscaping, majoring in theater and is very talented.

My son Lior is a 14-year-old student, excels in his studies, is talented in singing and soccer.

I am also raising my granddaughter, Miel, a sweet and special girl, who is on the autistic spectrum.

I take care of her with full dedication, without any assistance from her biological mother who is dealing with addictions. Unfortunately, I do not receive benefits or support for her, despite my full responsibility for her, for all her needs.

I myself deal with medical problems, fibromyalgia, back problems, high blood pressure and more.

I live on a small disability pension and deal with a heavy mental and physical burden, while taking daily intensive care of my children and granddaughter.

Humanitarian Aid for Southern Israel Residents | Brand-new Clothing & Shoes for Ashdod Single mother and Her Two Children

November 21sst, 2024 – Natalia is a 42 year old single mother of two from Ashdod who survived cancer 6 years ago.

When her husband found out she had cancer, he abandoned her.

The growth they had found on her head was sitting right under crucial nerves.

Because of where the tumor was located, for a couple years she couldn’t get approval for surgery, until the doctors found a way to operate and remove it. Initially they were going to operate through the mouth by breaking the jaw. Thankfully they decided to make an incision in her neck and the growth fell right off without much difficulties.

The surgery turned out to be both a miracle and a great success.

After her cancer, and because of the major stress she faced in life (financially and health-wise), she has had heart complications (leaking) and also had a catheter installed as a result of a nerve that was damaged during the surgery .

Every month she needs to spend 1,000 nis for a crucial injection treatment for her heart issues.

Now she lives off a small monthly disability allowance from the government, which barely allows her to cover her expenses.

Thanks to Helping Hand Coalition partners, GAiN Germany and all the amazing German / European companies that are behind them, Natalia has been receiving brand new sportswear shoes, clothing and more, thanks to the containers shipped to Israel on a regular basis.

Generous Basket is a humanitarian aid NGO located right in the heart of Tel Aviv, opened since 2022, just at the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Their aim is to assist refugees, displaced people from conflict areas, and those in need.

Words from the team:

“Since October 7, 2023, the demand for assistance through Generous Basket has tripled, with an increasing number of Israelis displaced from military zones seeking help. Previously, our aid primarily reached new immigrants, refugees, and single mothers with children. In the first three months of the war alone, we distributed 758 food boxes, delivered 12,000 kg of humanitarian aid, and reached 3,348 individuals with the help of our dedicated volunteers.

In the first half of 2024, an average of 400 families per month have sought help from Generous Basket. Whether they are picking a warm coat for winter, a comforting home good, or a food basket, every visit is accompanied by friendly conversations, free coffee, sweet treats, and a community that cares.”

The whole team expressed so much excitement about the donation and how it is going to bless so many families and individuals in need, and thanks Helping Hand Coalition and GAiN Germany for their support.

Petakh Tikva | Grocery Shopping Gift Cards for the Disabled and Underprivileged

September 18th, 2024 – Thanks to the generosity of British guests, another lady in need received significant financial help for her and her family in the form of grocery cards.

Sarah is 41 years old single mother. She has 3 children, (17, 15 and a 14 year old autistic son with lots of issues).

She made aliyah in 2011 from Ukraine. She was separated with her husband since 2012, because he had been violent with her, and was widowed in the last year.

She currently lives in Petach Tikva. She was in Ashkelon last year with her children when their building was hit by a rocket on the first day of the war. They were left without home (everything she had in her rental apartment was destroyed or damaged).

She was then given a small room in Petach Tikva for few days. After that she had to rent another apartment for a large sum for a short period. Finally the ministry of absorption gave her a government apartment where they can stay at the moment for a minimal sum.

They lost everything when the rocket hit their home. So they had to start life from scratch, buy everything from underwear to clothing, home supplies, appliances and more.

She is currently unable to work, she has to take care of her autistic son.
