October 3rd, 2017 – 20 Holocaust survivors from Hadera enjoyed a Shalom House gathering in Caesarea Villa. Volunteers with the March of Life Movement from Bangor and Germany worked together to serve the survivors. During the meal, a young lady shared her family story. It was not easy for her to see the pain in the eyes of the survivors as they listened, but suddenly some of them started to talk about their experiences and embraced her as an act of forgiveness. One survivor shared how a German soldier saved her life.
At the end of the meeting the volunteers were singing songs for the survivors.
As the feast of Sukkot is approaching, we celebrated together with the miracle of being alive after so many hardships. Happy Sukkot!
