Shalom House in Caesarea: A Celebration of Strength and Generosity

December 2, 2024

On December 2, 2024, a group of Holocaust survivors from Hadera, recently involved in the Dental Project, visited the Shalom House in Caesarea under the guidance of Sima Fedosova.

Bozena Gasiorowski warmly welcomed the group with heartfelt greetings, setting a tone of care and appreciation. Sara Gasiorowski highlighted the uniqueness of the Dental Project as part of HHC’s initiatives, emphasizing its mission to provide essential dental care to survivors who might otherwise be unable to afford it.

After enjoying a delicious and healthy lunch, one of the survivors, Yuri Aristidov, shared a heartfelt poem celebrating the spirit of his hometown, Hadera. Yuri also spoke briefly about his passion for powerlifting, a pursuit that has brought him recognition both locally and internationally, showcasing his incredible strength and resilience even in his senior years.

While the event continued with music and conversation around the table, the HHC team conducted interviews with several survivors who had participated in the Dental Project. These intimate conversations revealed deep emotions and stories of gratitude. Survivors expressed how the initiative had profoundly impacted their lives, restoring their confidence, dignity, and ability to smile freely. Many shared their heartfelt thanks for the generosity and kindness of those who made this vital support possible.

The gathering concluded with a lively concert by Mikhail Monkevich and Alex Fishman. Their uplifting music filled the room with energy, inspiring survivors to dance and leaving everyone with a renewed sense of hope and joy.
